Taurus Model 85 Classic. Viable inexpensive snubnose revolver. As good as a S&W J frame? It’s close.

Out at the range with my Taurus 85 Classic. This is a Blued all steel frame 5 shot revolver, built very similarly to a Smith and Wesson J frame. The design takes some cues from a detective special from the 1980’s or more modern revolvers. I believe this Taurus was made in the late 80’s or maybe the early 90’s but I haven’t been able to mail down an exact year. This gun shoots exceptionally. I think the cylinder gap is a little large, it shoots some large fireballs between the cylinder and forcing cone, but it shoots great, and accuracy is more than acceptable to me. The grip is great in the hand, a little big for carrying maybe, but it shoots like a pussycat. Another gun I was at the right place at the right time to buy, very happy with this revolver.
