This is the longplay of the game Salamander, a scrolling shooter video game developed and published by Konami. The game was first released in arcades and then on home consoles. This is the Famicom version, released in 1987. In the United States and Europe, the game was called Life Force. Salamander is a spin-off of the Gradius series and follows the same gameplay style: you control a ship, which gets power-ups, but they are not activated automatically, but manually, through a bar in the bottom corner of the screen. You can increase the speed of the ship, get weapons (missiles and two types of lasers), options (which are spheres that fly around the ship, allowing you to fire more shots at the same time) and shields. The difference between this series and Gradius is that in this one you can play with two players, one controls the Vic-Viper ship (blue) and the other controls the Lord British (red), in addition to having vertical stages. Salamander even received an anime (with 3 episodes, in OVA), in addition to having received a sequel years later (for Arcade and PS1). The video was made playing with 2 players. I hope you like it.
