How to paint a Robin - Watercolour painting demonstration

This watercolour demonstration painting of a Robin shows how to use watercolours effectively. In this video you will see how I use thin washes, working from the lightest light to the darkest dark. I used the wet in wet technique and wet on dry to create the soft feel of the feathers. I used a dry brush technique to indicate the bark of the Birch branch. You can learn a lot about using watercolours by copying and practicing from this picture and others that I will be posting over the coming months. At the end of the painting you will see me using watercolour spatter for a dynamic finish. Colours used were Winsor&Newton Aureolin, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Red, Ultramarine and Burnt Sienna.
