In this video we take another look at an Eddie Cochran historic site. In October 2013 I visited Bell Gardens Intermediate High (formerly Bell Gardens Junior High) at 5841 Live Oak Street in Bell Gardens, California. In September 1951, 12-year old Eddie Cochran was enrolled at Bell Gardens Junior High. While in school he met Connie 'Guybo' Smith and the two soon were inseparable and started making music. An early public performance by Eddie and Guybo on Friday, 19 March 1954, is recorded in the Bell Gardens Junior High School newsletter. In June 1954 Eddie graduated from junior high. As Eddie was already aiming for a full time career in music the decision was made and in January 1955 Eddie Cochran left school. Eddie was sixteen at the time partnered with Hank Cochran as 'The Cochran Brothers'. Recorded and narrated by Antoon van Olderen.
