This Bach passage is just heavenly

Bach's Double Violin Concerto in D minor, BWV 1043, classes among some of his most beautiful melodic writing and the Largo movement is a deep contemplation of stillness and emotional depth. A straight, plodding bass line and subdued orchestra create a soft harmonic backdrop that allows the flowing melodic exchange between the two violins to shine. An exchange that is constantly nurtured by a dialogue of motifs that almost seem to weave in and out of each other, forming a stream of complex but delicate counterpoint. Notice how the melodies are mostly constructed with just a small motif, even the accompaniment to the melody has its own motif that constantly reappears for the listener to latch onto. The music itself seems to cycle through various keys with the same motifs but this repetitiveness doesn't seem to tire us, attesting to the very beauty of this simple melody.
