Silent Servant - End/Optimism The heavyweight 15 track compilation features exclusives from Silent Servant, Function, Vatican Shadow, Inland, Campbell Irvine, Post Scriptum, Cassegrain & Tin Man, Rrose, Efdemin, Blue Hour, Steve Bicknell and Cleric, spinning a narrative ranging from lush, ambient electronics and post-club diversions, to contemporary club techno and back again. The release marks a highlight of the label’s 2nd wave since Function & Inland rebooted the label back in 2014 with the killer Odeon EP after 10 years in cryogenic stasis. Now fully thawed out and up for it, they round up comrades old and new for a proper, diverse session. Highlights of the new skool include Cleric’s peak time barnstormer Concrete; the more wayward trajectory of Rrose’s head-spinning Cephalon; a tensile, and a funked up missile from Blue Hour called Averting. From the veterans, alongside killers from Silent Servant and Vatican Shadow we find strong pieces in Steve Bicknell’s noisy shunter Passage Through Darkness, and Function himself in the vintage In Sync/AI styles of Low Lights & Trick Mirrors, but the rosette goes to his and Inland’s heart-rending, Polygon Window-shaped techno panorama, Colwyn Bay. Infrastructure regularly works with up-and-coming artists on cover artwork, with this special edition featuring celebrated British fine-artist Robert NcNally who has worked with the likes of Jake and Dinos Chapman as well as Damien Hurst on his incredibly detailed large scale pencil drawings. His cover artwork is reproduced on a card-mounted print that comes with the vinyl edition. ___ DISCLAIMER: All tracks are uploaded in a low quality for promotional purposes only and with buy links to respect label and artists.
