Water Crisis | Parts of Mpumalanga experience severe shortage

Residents of several municipalities in Mpumalanga are battling to cope with severe water shortages in their communities. The Govan Mbeki, Lekwa and Chief Albert Luthuli municipalities have an acute water shortage. Some communities have gone for days, even weeks and months, without a reliable supply. Water reservoirs in Govan Mbeki are either empty or at a critical level, while a water treatment plant in Lekwa, Standerton, is currently under refurbishment.
