Meeting a life companion and having a great wedding ceremony is something most women and men dream to experience one day. But such simple dreams aren't easy to come by for the differently abled. Samajik Bandhilaki Sanstha, supported by Mai Bal Bhavan Dehrood (Pune), helped organise the wedding of two such couples on 22nd December this year. Santoshi and Naunath (both challenged by impaired speech), didnt need words to express their love for eachother, and Shalan and Nitin (both visually challenged) could see an eternity of togetherness. We thank Mai Bal Bhavan, an NGO that works for the upliftment of the differently abled girls (visually challenged, physically handicapped, impaired hearing), for taking care of them. Right from educating them, training for livelihoods, to even arranging for their marriage, Mai Bal Bhawan has ensured these girls stand on their feet and grow up to be independent women.
