In a shocking twist, the couple’s daughter confessed to the crime, claiming she shot her father to protect her mother, who allegedly said he was abusing her at the time. However, in opening statements, Laurie Shaver’s attorney said her lover, Jereme Townshend, shot and killed Michael.
