The Futures - Party Time Man (Single Version)

This underrated gem from the Philadephia-based R&B quintet called The Futures is a favorite of mine, with truly awesome arrangements that include a prominent bassline and lush strings, with a rousing chorus of "Party, Party, Party!" heard towards the end; there's even a saxophone riff with an intro that sounds a bit like "Yakety Sax." Overall, this is a great dance tune with an irresistible groove that can move even the most dance-challenged person. "Party Time Man" peaked at #94 on the R&B chart in 1979, and failed to enter the Billboard 100 chart, which was a disappointment, making this another single that I thought deserved to be a bigger hit. original version on the album Past, Present and the Futures written by Sherman Marshall and Ted Wortham © copyright 1978 CBS Inc, Philadelphia International Records, Mighty Three Music.
