Turn on subtitles/captions for detailed breakdown and my thoughts. This video is my first attempt at taking Apple Log 2 footage from an iPhone 17 Pro and turning it into a cinematic look using DaVinci Resolve. Previously I mostly shot S-Log3 on the Sony A7SII, but I wanted to see if I could achieve a similar cinematic result using only a phone. The footage was shot midday in harsh lighting conditions, experimenting with exposure, contrast, and color balance while walking through a neighborhood. I also experimented with a cheap clip-on VND filter, diffusion tricks, and handheld tracking shots. This video includes my thoughts while learning: Working with Apple Log 2 Building a simple color grading node tree Balancing harsh daylight exposure Using DaVinci Resolve (free version) for grading Run-and-gun shooting with an iPhone I’m still learning, so if you have any tips about: exposing log footage VND filters iPhone filmmaking setups run-and-gun shooting workflows let me know in the comments. #iPhoneFilmmaking #AppleLog #ColorGrading #DaVinciResolve #CinematicVideo #iPhoneVideo #SmartphoneFilmmaking #FilmmakingTest #RunAndGunFilmmaking #CinematicFootage #AppleLog2 #MobileFilmmaking
