This is the story of Santa Rosa de Lima, who was born in Peru in 1586 and died in 1617. Rosa from an early age gave her life to God as a layperson in the Third Order of Santo Domingo. She was canonized in 1671, and became the first saint born in Latin America, patron saint of Peru, florists, nurses and artisans.
