Study: Selfies Leading to More Plastic Surgery

The popularity of self portraits, or selfies, appears to have given the cosmetic surgery industry a boost. A study from leading plastic surgeons reveals an uptick in facial procedures as a direct result of 'selfie' dissatisfaction. One in three facial plastic surgeons say they've seen an increase in surgical requests among people wanting to improve their look on their social media profiles. In fact, from 2012-2013, there has been a 10 percent increase in rhinoplasty, or nose jobs, a 7 percent increase in hair transplants and a 6 percent increase in eye-lid surgery.
