After breakfast, your guide and your driver will help you checking out the hotel and you will be transferred to Pinhao pier where you private boat and the crew will be waiting for you to start your journey along the Douro river. Sit back on the boat and enjoy spectacular views of the vineyards. You will make a stop before lunch to visit Quinta Nova. With a history spanning more than 250 years, the Quinta displays a set of traditional white buildings, still built on different levels today, from where we can appreciate the original winery building dating from 1764, one of the oldest in the Douro region. Passing through the original winery, you will learn about the precision of vinification process and the complexity of each harvest, which involves an alliance between traditional processes - such as the fermentations conducted in the Atelier do Vinho - and the sophisticated technology of the two fully automated wine presses. After lunch you will continue your journey by boat down the driver Porto. You will have the chance to experience another lock crossing, in this case, you will cross the Regua's lock. It was built between 1967 and 1973. The lock of navigation of this dam is about 85m long, 12m wide and the difference in the water level is of 27m. The downstream gate open and close on a guillotine shape. Inside the lock there are 3 mooring floats on both walls of the lock that follow the boats as they go up or down. You will arrive to Peso da Regua, the final journey of your boat tour today.
