Long shot of coffin arriving, mourners STORYLINE: The coffin of Israeli soldier Noa Marciano, who was among the hostages taken by Hamas in last month's deadly cross-border raid, arrived at her funeral in Modi'in, central Israel on Friday. The military said her body was found in a building near Shifa Hospital in Gaza City and brought to Israel for identification by the military rabbinate. The death of the 19-year-old hostage was announced on Monday. A war between Israel and Hamas erupted after the militant group killed some 1,200 people and seized around 240 captives in an October 7 attack that shattered Israelis' sense of security. Four hostages taken in the initial attack have now been confirmed dead, while four others have been freed and one rescued. Hamas says dozens of captives have been killed by Israeli strikes but hasn’t provided evidence. Israel has dismissed such claims as psychological warfare.
