Kinsham Raceway - Crash and Racing Fast 2 Strokes! !!Sorry the quality is bad, blame YouTube!! Bike - Symoto 140SM (140cc) This Video is made up from two separate days. The first two clips were the first time I had ever gone to Kinsham Raceway. I made the mistake of only having the standard pegs, which were way too low and I kept scraping the floor with them, which you can hear sometimes in the video. This was really holding me back and I wasn't able to progress how I wanted to. The last two clips I had brought aftermarket peg raisers. This made a massive difference as I was no longer scraping the pegs during cornering. This allowed me to achieve much higher lean angle and go quicker. Hopefully you can tell this from the video. 0:14 - The Crash: For those wondering why I crashed here, it was because I was using too much rear brake as I entered the corner. I was trying to slide the bike more into the corner, also known as backing it in. However on this occasion I just used way too much rear brake and locked the rear wheel causing the crash. 1:34 - Close Call and Fighting Through Traffic: The close call is quite hard to see, but at 2:27 as I accelerated out of the corner, I pulled a small wheelie and when the front wheel landed again it caused a bit of a wobble. Luckily I got it under control before the tyre barrier! Also was fighting through some traffic and when watching it back I could have been much more aggressive and got through them a bit quicker. 4:01 - Catching Fast 2 Stroke, But it Broke Down: As you may be able to tell, this 2 stroke was much quicker than my 4 stroke in a straight line, luckily I was much stronger on the brakes. The hard part is being able to put yourself into a position to out brake him when he pulls away from you on every straight. After following him for a lap or so, I had an understanding of where I was stronger, which was in the 2 biggest braking zones. The first overtake attempt (6:53) I was able to brake really hard into the previous corner and catch up to him and then accelerate out as hard as I could. The bike was sliding a bit on exit, but since it was only a short straight to the next corner I was able to almost level him. I then broke as late as possible to make the apex and overtake him, however there was a long straight afterwards so he just powered past me. So not the best spot to overtake at. The second attempt was much better (7:21) after a long straight, I broke really hard into the corner going wide. I then looked for the late apex to get better drive out of the corner and to level him and out-brake him into the following corner. This was a better place to overtake as there was no long straights after. Just as I leveled him out of the corner, his bike failed and he had to pull over.
