CNMCC Presents: Charles Chibitty Comanche CodeTalker Song

In recognition of today's 71st Anniversary of the #D-Day invasion, it is with great admiration that we remember our 17 #Comanche #CodeTalkers. Because #Hitler knew about the success of the WWI Code Talkers, he sent a team of people to America to learn #Native American languages before the outbreak of #WWII. However, the languages and dialects proved too difficult for them to understand. The United States #Military used this to their advantage and recruited American Indians from two dozen tribes to relay battle messages in their native languages. Fourteen Comanche Code Talkers were shipped overseas to take part in WWII; thirteen of those came ashore with the #Army's 4th Infantry Division 71 years ago today on #Normandy's #UtahBeach. Their mission was a success. None were killed in action and their codes were never broken.
