Straight in! Straight in! This Accuracy Test video signifies the start of the Accuracy Test videos here on Wayne's Electrical. Let's go! :D So then..... No messing about and we're definitely not going to open this series of videos by treading lightly into it. Oh no! :D We're storming STRAIGHT IN with a chunky three phase instrument by Sangamo Weston, and this one is the S301.1 Characteristics of a Sangamo Weston S301.1: Three phase - Four wire. 3x 240v, 3x 50A. 50Hz. 40 revs = kWh. Given that we have a 2% tolerance to play with, the allowable limits will be as follows: Fastest speed........... 4.08 revs Ideal speed............... 4.00 revs Slowest speed.......... 3.92 revs Now, this one isn't as easy as "just-bang-it-on-and-do-the-test" because this one has THREE coil-sets, and each coil set really should be tested out to check their various calibration alignments that they have. Because of this, it is rather likely that a poorly tuned instrument will have three different test results, even though this instrument has only one accuracy magnet and one loadwheel. Due to the possibility of all three test results being different, the three test results will be taken and divided by three to give an averaged test result. As an example, let's say we got these following results: Example Test 1....... 4.01 revs Example Test 2....... 3.95 revs Example Test 3....... 4.05 revs Take all three test results and add together to give = 12.01 Next, divide that by the amount of tests done (3) = 4.003333333 Now we could go three, maybe four numbers to the decimal (which would be a result of 4.0033) but really, there would be no point, so we just go only two places to the decimal, which in this example, would give a spot-on averaged test result of 4.00 revs. :D However.... That was just an example. If you wonder what THE REAL test results are, then watch the video to see if it passes or fails. In the video, there will be an information screen popping up which details all the meter's details, the high speed, the low speed, Ideal speed and what the test result was, and whether-or-not it passes the test. If it passes = BIG GREEN BOX with "PASS" If it fails = BIG RED BOX with "FAILED" So, there we are. I have no idea what the age is of this instrument, but when you take into account that this instrument IS EQUIPPED with the FLOTON® magnetic bearing, I can estimate that this instrument can be pinned around about the mid 1960s. So, there we are then. Playlists? Oh yes! This video, can be found in the ACCURACY TESTS Playlist, and over time, there will be other videos being added in there, so if you like and enjoy the suspense of sitting on the edge of your seat, wondering whether-or-not that loadwheel is going to make it in time, then YOU NEED the Accuracy Tests playlist! :D More accuracy tests later IN FULL HD, 1920 x 1080p! For now on this one.... Thanks for watching. -Wayne's Electrical.
