To the...STARS "To the... STARS" depicts the hopes and dreams of the dancers expanding to the farthest part of the galaxy to reach the constellations shining brightly in the night. The dance concert will feature different genres of dance such as K-Pop (Korean Pop), C-Pop (Chinese Pop), Chinese Classical Dance ( 古典舞) as well as Fusion Dances. Through the different constellations, each dance will represent a unique story highlighting the dancers’ hopes and dreams as well as their wishes for the future, hoping that they can make their journey happily and that they can shine as brightly as the STARS! Shadow Danceland Founded by Stephen Ah Sen in October 2019, the Dance Company ‘Shadow Danceland’ 影子舞团 was formed so that the Chinese community is more visible in the local Mauritian arts scene. Starting with a group of 4 dancers, they performed and filmed videos under the name ‘S-Crew’ as the youth crew performing K-Pop and C-Pop Dances. In parallel, the group ‘S-Class’ creates and performs Chinese Classical dances with a modern twist. The company has been actively participating in various performances especially for the Chinese New Year events in Mauritius and was invited to perform in Reunion Island as well. As the company grows to include adult ‘S-Clan’ and children ‘S-Club’ dance classes, it hopes to continue sharing and spreading its passion for the Chinese arts.
