Roof Top Tents are all the rage this days in the Overland community and the general off road community. These are my initial impressions on the Smittybilt Gen 2 Overlander tent. They also make an XL version. This is an affordable cheap overland tent. There are a lot of different roof top tents out there on the market and Smittybilt has one of the more affordable options out there. The Gen 2 version has some upgrades over the Gen 1 tent so I figured I would give it a try on my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. I address materials, setup, and more. Could this Smittybilt tent be the best roof top tent in 2021? We will be testing the tent out in Moab Utah for the 2021 Easter Jeep Safari.
