Nestled in the heart of Coolidge Corner Brookline lies the legendary "Friar Tuck's Comics & Collectables" owned by the Fred Rodgers of the comic book world Robert Tuck (the guy with the hat). Now I gotta ask: Who opens up a brick & mortar bookstore nowadays? A place where you can get lost in the bins for hours or crane your neck upward to see the many treasures aligned along the wall; items rare & wonderful in some cases signed by their original creators? He did. Just feast your eyes on the pop culture emporium and palace of geekdom he has created for all of us, much of it from his personal collection. If you're a comic book fan around here you simply MUST visit! His people are friendly & knowledgeable, his prices on back issues and trading cards are low and there's simply no better stocked store in the Boston area. On top of that, the guy's generous...He's had a 25 percent discount off new releases "sale" going since he opened the place years ago... Plus, any time you buy anything they throw a bunch of Pokemon or Magic cards FREE! I don't play myself but he does host tournaments every week, I think.
