The Langton quartet follows various family members through the 1890's to the end of the First World War. detailing a vanished world of the Anglo-Australians, a forgotten class of Australians who though they, lived, worked and resided here saw England as Home, rather than the hot, dry continent on which they found themselves. Perennially displaced neither Australian enough to feel at home in Australia, but too foreign to be fully accepted in England, the Anglo-Australians were a curious relic of a bygone age.
