Goulash - American Classic American goulash made with ground beef, elbow noodles, tomatoes, and bold spices simmered to perfection. This easy one-pot comfort food recipe is hearty, flavorful, budget-friendly, and perfect for family dinners, meal prep, and cozy weeknight meals. Ingredients: • 1 to 1 1/2 lb/450 – 675 grams hamburger • 1 Tbs/1.5 grams ground dried rosemary • 1 tsp/0.5 grams ground dried thyme • 1 large yellow onion rough chopped • ¼ cup/30 grams paprika • 4 cloves garlic diced • ½ to 1 tsp/1.25-2.5 grams chili flakes • 2 tsp/1 grams dried basil • 2 tsp/3 grams dried oregano • 3 small cans diced tomatoes, any flavor will do • 1 to 2 bay leaves • 3 cups/720 ml beef broth or stock • Salt and pepper to taste • 1 Tbs/15 ml Worcestershire Sauce • ½ lb/225 grams elbow noodles • Parmesan or green onions to top Directions: 1. In large pot brown burger and onion. Drain most, but not all, of the oil. 2. Return to stove on medium heat and add garlic and paprika. Bloom paprika for 2 to 3 minutes until it darkens and becomes fragrant stirring constantly being careful not to burn. 3. Add chili flakes, basil, rosemary, thyme, and oregano. Stir to combine and warm spices. 4. Add tomatoes and bay leaves, stir to combine. 5. Add stock and stir 6. Bring to boil and then reduce heat to simmer. 7. Cook for minimum 2 hours stirring often to prevent burning. Adjust salt and pepper as needed during these 2 hours. 8. Bring to boil and add noodles. Cook until al dente approximately 8 to 10 minutes. Top with parmesan or green onions. ENJOY!
