There are many paths leading to the top of Mount Fuji, but there is only one summit. Finally, one of my bucket list checked: Climbing the highest peak in Japan, Mt. Fuji, 3776 meter above sea level. I took Yoshida Trail, the most popular of the four routes. It starts at the Fuji-Subaru Line 5th Station and leads to the summit from the north side of Mt. Fuji from the Yamanashi Prefecture. The hike is not technically difficult, and no need a guide. The altitude is no joke. Climbing at a calm and steady pace to avoid the altitude sickness. The climb can take between 5-10 hours. I spent almost 14 hours to reached the summit (including rest time). Start from 1 pm (August 26, 2021) and reached the summit before 4 am (August 27, 2021). The trail for ascent is completely different from the trail for descent. The descent of Mt. Fuji is typically between 3 and 4 hours. Although descending Mt. Fuji is twice as fast as climbing up, it is also considered by many to be twice as difficult. The trail leading down is made up of loose rock and pebbles and is a hazard for slipping and falling flat on your back or face forward. I recommend to use gaiter at the time of a descent. You should check your equipment before departure for climbing. When you climb Mt. Fuji, you should be properly equipped, so that you can cope with a sudden weather change or unexpected delay in descending the mountain. You must carry rainwear and warm clothes (for cold protection). Head lamp is a must. It was an amazing moment to watch the sun rising above the clouds. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED & REALLY WORTH TO TRY. #MountFuji #FujiSan #Fuji #Japan #hiking #climbing Music: Underwater by MOKKA • Under Water
