This in no way affected my opinions or the content in this video. In this video I'll be taking a look at the J. Rockett Audio Designs Lenny. The Lenny is a boost pedal which is incredible simple, but packs some serious tone into its robust casing. It is a boost/light overdrive in the voicing of a cranked Dumble Steel String Singer. Instead of making that high headroom clean boost that others have done, JRAD decided to chase the Stevie Ray Vaughan tone and recreate that cranked Dumble on the verge of breakup. This pedal is mostly clean but it adds a touch of breakup at the top of the signal. The harder you hit, the more it breaks up. This is great to push the front end of your amp into singing overdrive or to high other pedals inputs harder to juice out a little extra gain. If you like the tones of players like Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer and Kenny Wayne Shepherd then this mid pushed, light breakup will be a tool you will love on your board. In the video I am plugged into the Blackstar Studio 10 6L6 which is mic'd with an Aston Origin condenser mic. The overdrive comes from the Analogman King of Tone. I am using a Shergold Masquerader and a Stanford Crossroad Thinline 35 as my guitars.
