SOUTH WALES Road Trip | ABERGAVENNY to BRECON 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

An incredible drive from Abergavenny to Brecon in the Brecon Beacons National Park of South Wales. On route we’ll hike the Sugar Loaf and see canal boats & lifting bridges in Talybont-on-Usk. 🇬🇧 You can see all of my UK videos here → https://bit.ly/mwt_UK Abergavenny is referred to as the gateway to the Brecon Beacon National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog) in South Wales. We’ll visit the ruined Norman Abergavenny Fortress, walk through the old Market Hall, learn about the historic St Mary’s Priory and enjoy a little window shopping on the pretty High Street. After a short walk along the River Usk we’ll leave Castle Meadows in Abergavenny and drive to the iconic Sugar Loaf trail head - the southernmost peak in the beautiful Black Mountains. There we’ll head to the summit in search of some sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. From there we’ll get back on the road and drive north to the village of Talybont-on-Usk in the county of Brecknockshire where we’ll learn about the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal and a unique lifting bridge that caters for barges on the canal and vehicular traffic and pedestrians crossing the water. It’s a beautiful part of southern Wales and nice just to stroll around and feel the vibes of village life. I arrived in the market town of Brecon as the day was beginning to fade but just in time to visit the Brecon Canal Basin and then take a leisurely walk around the town centre.
