Hot TENT Winter Camping & Wood Stove Cooking - [Pomoly Hussar 2]

On this adventure I head out into the Temple Valley, in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, for my first ever winter 'hot tent' camp. This was my heaviest pack ever, and a real mission to carry the tent and stove into the mountains, and then to set it up all on my own. The wood stove was amazing, so so warming, it heated up the tent and even though there was ice on the tent in the morning, I had a warm night's sleep inside. It was really convenient to use the stove to cook my dinner and head up my morning coffee. Working out how to stop the rain from wetting my sleeping area required some thought, and rolling the flexible stove pipe was a bit of a mission. None the less I loved the tent and had so much fun.
