Is this Rolex Zombie water-damaged BEYOND REPAIR? A customer of ours came last week to purchase his dream watch with us: A Rolex GMT-Master II “Zombie”. However, just 5 days later, he’s back because he noticed some humidity and water inside his brand-new Rolex. As a watch owner, this is a WORST CASE SCENARIO. Immediately, this tells you that water has gotten into the Rolex and it is very likely that the movement is damaged beyond serviceable repair. If the damage is what it seems, the customer’s Rolex will not be officially damaged beyond repair, meaning he will have to buy a brand new movement for his watch. For a Zombie, this is well over $12,000 on top of the $21K he already spent originally. So, the question remains: Can we save this customer’s ROLEX?
