Players assume the roles of dysfunctional couple Ben and Norah, who are going on an island tour to work out their problems. Co-op is available as a mode of play, though one may play alone as well. Players must make their way across the island of Spice, while killing mutated animals and insects, such as frogs, leeches, spiders, water bugs, piranhas, pillbugs, fleas, and flies, along the way. The players are given FN FAL assault rifles early in the game to fend off enemies. These enemies include oversized praying mantises, mutant frogs, and blood-sucking leeches, all designed to heighten the sense of danger and spectacle rather than realism. The reactive controller is a defining feature of the Special cabinet. The mounted machine guns provide force feedback that responds directly to on-screen action, reinforcing weapon recoil, impacts, and environmental events. This is paired with cinematic sound design that surrounds the players with directional audio, explosions, creature noises, and environmental effects, creating the impression of a film-like action sequence rather than a traditional arcade stage. In the Special version, quick time events do not involve aiming in any form. During QTE sequences, the player is not asked to track targets, move a cursor, or react directionally on screen. Instead, the cabinet is designed around two large physical buttons, and every QTE interaction is handled exclusively through these buttons. When a QTE is triggered, the game prompts the player to press one button, the other button, alternate between them, or rapidly mash both, depending on the situation. These inputs represent actions such as bracing for impact, forcing an object open, resisting a creature’s attack, or stabilizing the vehicle during violent motion. Visual immersion is achieved through the use of two massive screens, which expand the field of view and deepen the illusion of being physically present inside the jungle. These screens work in tandem with the motion-based seating system. The two-player movie-style seat rotates a full 360 degrees, synchronizing with in-game movement, ambushes, and scripted events to simulate sudden turns, falls, and evasive maneuvers. Physical immersion is further enhanced by integrated air jets that blast the players during key moments. These air effects simulate wind, explosions, and sudden motion, reinforcing the sensation that the jungle environment is reacting directly to the action on screen. The game is built around only three stages, but each stage contains three possible routes. These routes branch dynamically during play, usually determined by player performance, damage taken, or scripted decision points. While the overall stage count is low, the route system increases replay value by altering enemy placements, set pieces, and encounter pacing depending on the path taken through the jungle. Let’s Go Jungle! Special is also designed around a strict one-credit clear structure. The entire experience must be completed in a single credit. If the player continues are exhausted or a game over occurs at any point, the run ends and the game must be restarted from the beginning. The game also has a final QTE must not be failed to access the good ending, otherwise the game will have an harsh finale that mocks the player(s).
