Jesus’ first sermon in Luke 4:14–30 reveals Him as the Spirit-anointed Son of God who proclaims liberty, healing, and grace to the spiritually poor, blind, captive, and oppressed. The people of Nazareth rejected Him, failing to see beyond His humanity and missing the divine fulfillment standing before them. This message challenges believers to recognize their spiritual need, abandon pride, and receive the full, sustaining grace Jesus offers, not just spiritual “samples” of His work. Discussion Questions: 1. In what ways do we sometimes settle for a “sample” of Jesus rather than embracing the fullness of who He is? 2. How does spiritual pride hinder our ability to recognize our need for God’s grace and healing? 3. Jesus used examples of outsiders (the widow and Naaman) to expose the spiritual blindness of His own people—how might this speak to our view of who God chooses to bless and use? 4. What does it look like to live with the mindset that we have “nothing to lose” when following Jesus wholeheartedly? 5. How can we help others in our community experience the liberating and healing grace of Christ through our words and actions?
