A Colorful Celebration of Storytelling in Marrakech

From Dar Bellarj in the heart of Marrakech’s old Medina to Jemaa el-Fna, a vibrant and colorful procession wound through the narrow alleyways in high spirits, dancing to the rhythms of Gnawa and Issawa music. Over 106 storytellers danced, chanted, and waved Moroccan flags to celebrate the kickoff of the International Marrakech Storytelling Festival, running from January 19 to 26. This year, storytellers aim to break a Guinness World Record with 120 hours of non-stop storytelling.
