Why Should I Color Seal My Tile Grout Instead of Using a Clear Sealer?

Hi, my name is Dan Milne, owner of Desert Tile and Grout Care. We are located in Gilbert, Arizona. One of the questions we are often asked is why should I color seal my grout as opposed to using a clear sealer? Two big major differences, especially when you do an existing floor, people have to realize, I let them know grout is basically just sand. So what happens over time it gets permanently stained. When we go in to machine scrub it, we machine scrub it, extract the dirty water and then mop it with clear water. We get all the dirt out but again, because grout is basically just sand a lot of times there's permanent staining. We like to go back and stain the grout back to its original color or you can change colors to any color you like. A lot of times people say, "Well, this grout color was too light, can you make it darker?" Absolutely. And as we stain it we have sealer mixed in with our stain so we are sealing the grout at the same time we are staining it. I would be more than happy to come out and give you a free estimate.
