This is a feature that is becoming more common and can be found on more recent mirrorless cameras and that is the ability to start capturing photos before you press the shutter release. So on something like my EOS R5 Mark II when I press the shutter release button it stores up to half a second of photos in the buffer, when I then press all the way down to take the photo it then puts those photos onto my memory card. So if I am shooting at 30 frames per second it can get an extra 15 frames in there. This is very hand for action, sports and wildlife photography. This only works in electronic shutter.
