The Huge & Magnificent Torfajokull Caldera in Iceland - 360 Drone Circle

The Torfajökull volcanic system is about 40 km long and 30 km wide and the caldera includes the largest geothermal area in Iceland (150 km2) It's mostly free from ice and best described as a geological wonder that still holds many mysteries, like it's connection to the Bárðarbunga fissure swarm and how that volcano has taken control over this huge system. It’s possible to drive a bit further to Hrafntinnusker but this was in the afternoon and it was more urgent to use the little sunlight I got every now and for drone flying since the 2023 tour didn't deliver what I hoped for as for light. I intend to make a full information video about this volcano but it’s only possible with the interview format since this is a complicated system and it’s not for me to do it justice as for the geology.
