ACE Video Visits - Graphics Overview. Chris Crawford wrote and starred in these how-to videos, which were created in 1981 and distributed to all the various Atari user groups. Apparently Chris was already experienced with doing these performance demonstrations. In a recent interview (http://willnicholes.com/interviews/Ca..., former Atari programmer Carla Meninsky had this story about Chris: "They put me in an office with Chris Crawford. Chris was amazing, odd, but amazing. He had run a roadshow for physics before coming to Atari, so the first thing he did for me was act out (literally) the 6502 processor." Chris was the author of several Atari 400/800 computer games such as Eastern Front, Legionnaire, Excalibur, Energy Czar, and Scram. He later designed the critically acclaimed Balance of Power and Balance of Power: 21st Century. He also wrote several books (The Art of Game Design, and Balance of Power) and is a co-founder of the Computer Game Developers Conference, which started in 1988 and is now commonly known as Game Developers Conference (or GDC).
