North–Central Corridor MOU Aims to Enhance Transport Integration & Reduce Trade CostsStraightforward

The Central Corridor Transit Transport Facilitation Agency and the Northern Corridor Transit and Transport Coordination Authority have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening multimodal connectivity, promoting green economic development corridors, advancing digitalization, enhancing trade facilitation, and integrating regional infrastructure. Once viewed as rival trade routes — one anchored at the Port of Dar es Salaam and the other at the Port of Mombasa — the two corridors are now charting a new course. Their leadership has pledged to complement rather than compete, in a move designed to benefit regional economies and the people they serve.
