It has been labeled on a VHS as "Maple Shade in the 30s and 40s" but it seems it would really be "Maple Shade in 1941." See the articles- https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%2... This collection of old movies of Maple Shade, NJ aired on the Maple Shade Cable TV network. This has been copied from a VHS tape and is not the best quality, but I am not sure how good it got. The beginning and end photos of the Roxy have been added. Below is the highlighted places- 0:20 - Maple Shade Progress newspaper, Gerkins family, East Main St. and S. Fellowship Ave. 0:57 - Maple Shade Garage, Fred Olt, East Main St. and N. Maple Ave. 1:54 - Congregational Church, North Forklanding Rd. and Theodore Ave. 2:38 - Maple Shade Coal Co., Santore family, Stiles Ave. 3:45 - German Kitchen, Michels family, Rt. 73 5:25 - Maple Shade Highway Dept., old Firehouse, South Poplar Ave. 6:05 - Leonard's Department Store, E. Main St. and N. Poplar Ave. 7:21 - Murphy's Service Station, West Main St. and South Coles Ave. (now the Custard Stand) 8:45 - Graham Brick Co., North Pine Ave. past RR tracks 10:12 - Mill Road School PTA 10:35 - Dietrich's Bakery, Main St. where Post Office now is 11:05 - School No. 2, Chestunut Ave. (now Steinhauer School) Woodshop and sewing classes in the above mentioned. 12:47 - Marching band on N. Church St., Moorestown in front of Moorestown High School (where MS Students went) 13:49 - Red Cross training 16:48 - Totem Ranch Bar, Rt. 73 and Orchard Ave. (They also had a rodeo) 18:36 - Girl Scouts 19:43 - Mennel's Inn, Mennel family (related to Frech) Main and S. Spruce, Lastly Charlie Brown's 20:21 - Cutler Real Estate, Ferro Building, Main and S. Maple 21:03 - Collins Lumber, North Forklanding Rd. and RR tracks Doctor's office ? Car Dealership ? 23:49 - School No. 1, North Poplar Ave, Later the E.B. Haig School, lastly Wee Love daycare Children getting out of schools 30:25 - Mill Road School children and Airplane Club and playground 33:52 - Township Meeting ? Old Municipal Building, second floor (now Fontanas) 34:32 - R. Gale Florist, Gale family, S. Forklanding Rd. 35:13 - Maple Shade (well officially Chester Twp) Water & Sewer Steps in front of what is now Dr. Paul's office, etc... being put in by Fred Fister Belton & Son Funeral Home 39:46 - Pennsauken Fire Dept. Maple Shade Fire Dept. Maple Shade First Aid Squad About this rendering- This is not the rendering made into a DVD previously. All I have for this was 2 CDs each having 704.6 MB on them as M2V files. I combined them in Windows Movie Maker and saved as a MP4 file. It had been split to fit on CD. (2) I did make the title last a little long. I have another make where I just shorten the title for whoever wants it or this.
