My intent in this video is to show that getting as far as I, a newbie, have is straightforward and easier than I would have guessed. And that the functionality and value of the DCC EX Command Station, and Engine Driver, is remarkably high. Really excellent. Details A demo of an ESP32 microcontroller based DCC EX command station running an Ex-Rail automation script via the Android throttle app, Engine Driver, on a small, table top layout made with Kato Unitrack. The script controls 2 small steam locos and a couple of #6 power routing turnouts. The turnouts are switched by a track powered and connected Digitrax DS74. The DCC EX Command Station software and ESP32 have been configured for OTA (wireless) firmware changes for convenient, quick modifications to the automation script. Kudos and thanks to the DCC EX and Engine Driver teams. Locos Both are Bachmann ALCO 2-6-0's from ~2013. The NYC 1906 is NOS purchased in June '24 with a 2 function (speed and headlamp) factory decoder. The GN 7 is used, purchased July '24, with ESU LokSound 5 decoder.
