Br Phap Dung talks about the original inspiration of Thay for the creation of the Wake Up movement. The primary role of Wake Up is to examine what is considered ‘normal’ in everyday society and to question the purpose of what society is doing. It is a silent revolution and resistance to societal pressures and building communities of young people. Importantly, resistance to societal pressures can be soft and still, it does not have to be a fight against something but uses love instead as a source of inspiration.
