Don Dicken (1934–2021) was a legendary PGA golf professional in Warsaw, Indiana, known for his 35-year tenure at Rozella Ford Golf Club. A decorated teacher and mentor, he was named Indiana PGA Golf Professional, Teacher, and Merchandiser of the Year. The annual "Don Dicken Classic" high school tournament at Stonehenge Golf Club & "Don Dicken Appreciation" scramble tournament at Rozella Ford Golf Course honors his lasting impact on the local golf community. Don Dicken recorded 12 hole-in-ones, achieved a low competitive score of 64, and was honored with multiple Indiana PGA awards. #DonDicken #PGA #Stonehenge #RozellaFord #GolfCourse #Warsaw #Indiana #Golfer #GolfProfessional #GolfTournament #GolfOuting (Team Huffer: Whitt Huffer, Neil Clampitt, Breckin & Justin Christner) Team Huffer get their "Warsaw Revenge," as they win the 9th Annual Don Dicken Appreciation Golf Scramble Tournament, after finishing Runner-Up in 2024! The 2024 finish was one to remember. In team Huffer's first year, they finished in a 4-team tie. This was unprecedented, so it was decided the teams would play in a playoff, starting on hole 10. Three out of four teams eagled the Par 5, 10th. The three teams remaining all birdied the 11th & 12th. By then, it was getting late, so a "Putt Off" was declared. Unfortunately, the Huffer team lost to a better putt from team Polk #Arbys15 #WeHaveTheMeats ...the Huffer team decided that day, that they would return the following year to try and win the tournament that just eluded them. Great turn out & impressive performance by a lot of teams. Christner did win the "Longest Drive" on team Huffer's last hole of the day in 2024. Ben Warren, a member on team Polk, had just achieved the feat moments before being over taken by Christner. Whitt, Neil & Justin might have logged the most hours on the golf course in their lives in 2025, improving their game. Breckin, was business as usual, proving he is one of the top golfers in the State of Indiana, and definitely put team Huffer on his back. Team Huffer signed up immediately for the 9th Don Dicken Golf Outing & anxiously awaited the day. But, that day would start with a little bit of chaos! Whitt, late as usual, pulled into the golf course as teams were carting off to their starting hole locations. The anxiety from team Huffer was rising, but luckily, they were the 2nd team to start on hole 7, which happens to display a bench in dedication to Don Dicken. "Keep it in the short grass." Team Huffer & team Andrews (two of the four teams from the playoff group in 2024) both finished with a 57. The back up score on Hole 13 for team Huffer was a 3, while team Andrews had a 4, making team Huffer the winner! Other highlights from '25 included; a massive drive on hole 16 from Neil, who nearly made the green on the 392 yard Par 4. Team playing in front was quoted, "Got all of that one!" Neil also smashed a ridiculous approach shot on hole 3. Unable to see the pin, he was free swinging, and got the ball onto the green on this Par 5 stretching 537 yards. Breckin's putt sealed the Eagle! Justin hit HUGE putts on numerous holes & his approach shot on the 487 yard Par 5, 14th, found the green. Whitt stayed in the middle for most of the day, concluding it with a tremendous pitch shot, on the last hole of the day, that landed just a few feet from the cup. #BeAWhittness #WhittUpShott #Whitticus #BigHitWhitt Christner won "Closest to the Pin" on hole 2, a 172 yard Par 3. The ball nearly went in for a hole-in-one! Great shot B! Christner almost won "Longest Drive," but was beat out by Tanner Andrews, who broke his driver. Year 1: Runner-Up. Year 2: #Champions Year 3: ??? Exciting to win and honored to play, in the memory & appreciation of Don Dicken & the Dicken family!
