Published: January 24, 2013 Speaker: Gregory Randolph, M.D. Gregory Randolph, M.D., is Director of the General Otolaryngology Service and Director of the Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgical Service at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, which he joined in 1986. He is also the founder and director of the annual Harvard Thyroid Surgery course. A graduate of Cornell Medical Collage. He has been actively involved in the development and use of recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) monitoring during thyroid surgery. He travels internationally to share knowledge about new technology. He has made repeated trips to the Ukraine with the Children’s Chernobyl Project, an organization that provides surgery and treatment to children with thyroid cancer due to radiation exposure. Dr. Randolph is a member of ThyCa's Medical Advisory Council. Moderator: Jan Halzel, Pharm.D. Jan Halzel, Pharm.D., is with Biogen Idec, biotechnology company. She is a co-moderator of ThyCa's Medullary Thyroid Cancer E-mail Support Group, has moderated ThyCa’s first six webinars, and is also involved in developing Medullary Thyroid Cancer content on ThyCa's web site. She has also represented ThyCa at many medical association meetings. She earned her bachelor's degree in pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island and her doctoral degree at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She is a member of ThyCa's Medical Advisory Council.
