Big Challenges of Small Theatres

Despite the downturn the theatre industry is experiencing, you can find an overflow of theatres ranging from national theatres to small community spaces in Prague. With this in mind, EMJ students Aren Melikyan and Saskia Reimann explored the vibrant circle of theatres, focusing on obstacles faced by small ones and the question of what motivates young people to dedicate their lives to the theatre. The story was created as a semester assignment for the Audiovisual Journalism class taught by František Géla and Kateřina Etrychová.
