First and foremost - PLEASE SUBSCRIBE What can I say.....Pull up a chair, sit back and let this amazing show take you to the West End Stage (well, Surrey actually and its fantastic Leatherhead Theatre)......Those amazing folk at Stagecoach Theatre Arts Schools have done it again. They have taken some of the best students by audition from around the globe, worked them (and the production team and chaperones) hard, and staged yet again what can only be described as a West End quality performance....and I filmed it as my daughter is in the cast for the third year running!!!......I know; Naughty me, but such a performance as this should not be lost to time!!! What I must say is please do not let my dodgy filming detract from this fantastic performance. And that leads me into a few apologies!!!......First, sorry about the shaky footage but when your filming from a seat and having to hold the camera above peoples heads for and hour and a half then things will shake....especially when the entire audience erupt out of their seats at the end for that truly deserved standing ovation!!!......On the subject of camera shake, I have let YouTube apply their magic anti-shake potion which has done wonders but it does tend to make the backdrop do weird things at times so trust me when I say that if you do see the set move lay off the wine!!!......Then there's the camera angles; Plan A was to film the close ups on the Friday night which I did and got some amazing footage. This would be edited with the distance shot from the Saturday night.....but oh no, things were not quite that simple. Having captured the entire show close up from middle front (with no heads from the audience bobbing up and down), I then learned that the Friday evening show main characters were performed by the understudies and that the Saturday evening would be the main cast. Now let me tell you that the understudies were no understudies.....the Friday performance was just as slick as the Saturday......but what it left me with was that the video you are hopefully about to enjoy is mainly shot from the back of the auditorium as I use Saturday nights sound track with what close up footage I could use from Friday night without swapping some (not all) of the main characters. However, a further apology must go to the two amazing performers who played the Pharaohs Butler....yes, I didn't know this part was understudied and have shown the close up from Friday with the soundtrack and therefore voice over of the Saturday show.....so the two performers are going to be scratching their heads if they watch this but in my defence, by the time I was told of my error I had already spent hours putting the footage together and didn't have the energy to change it.....but you were both great!!! If this is the first time you've watched one of the Stagecoach Theatre Arts Schools summer performances then do check out the West Side Story from 2013 and the individual parts from Seussical the Musical from 2014, all worthy of going on tour or performing, as said already, in the West End or on Broadway......and this was staged at the Leatherhead Theatre so never pass Leatherhead without taking in one of the many shows staged there....you wont regret it....it too should be in the West End!!! So, as a proud parent, well done Bethany (my daughter) who has shone on stage yet again for the third year. After all, this video is for her to add to the many great memories she already has.......and.....a huge thank you to all the production staff and head office and helpers at Stagecoach for your hard work and for giving all these young adults and children this chance to shine.....and finally, as I know your all desperate to watch the movie, a massive well done to all the performers for providing me and the rest of the audience with great entertainment and making us parents proud :)
