Pedra da Gávea - Hiking the tallest ocean-side mountain in the WORLD!!!

Pedra da Gávea is the tallest mountain in the world that ends in the ocean. We hiked to the top with our good friends the Mac’s Explore. Check out their amazing adventures and incredible photography. Instagram:   / macs_explore   YouTube:    / @macsexplore   Drone footage by macs_explore Gávea is a difficult hike but once you’re at the top the views are seriously breathtaking. The last 30 yards of the climb is straight stone jetting out at the top. For this part you need a guide or an experienced climber to get to the very top. There are climbing hooks embedded in the rocks and usually experienced people to help you up. It’s about three hours up and three hours down. The view is absolutely worth it! Pack a lunch and relax at the top for a while. I have climbed Gávea twice! Both times were incredible! I highly recommend it.
