It is one of the most beautiful things in the world when you can teach and help someone find the right direction in life. Imagine holding the hand of a blind person and guiding them safely on their way — in that moment, both of you experience happiness. The blind person feels gratitude for being guided, and you feel joy for having helped. But an even greater joy comes when you can help open the eyes of the blind — when you awaken someone’s inner vision. Many people live unaware that they are spiritually blind. A true teacher is one whose eyes are open, who can show others the path to open their inner eyes — what we call the third eye, or Ājñā Chakra. This doesn’t mean a physical eye opens. It symbolizes awakening — the inner knowledge that removes darkness. When Shiva’s third eye opens, it burns away all negativity and ignorance, leaving only the light of truth. Teaching something that uplifts others is one of the greatest joys in life. Parents, for example, should remember that their children don’t truly need toys or wealth — they need love, guidance, and wisdom. When you teach children from your heart, with love and sincerity, that is real teaching. Teaching yoga, attending satsang, learning and sharing what you learn with others — this is the greatest happiness. As Jesus said at the Last Supper: “Share with everyone.” Share your knowledge, your experiences, your light. But do not spread negativity or harmful thoughts — that only leads to suffering, first for yourself. Those who dwell in negative talk are trapped in darkness and sink deeper into it. Instead, share goodness. Inspire others. That is the purpose of our teaching and our center — to awaken love, wisdom, and divine consciousness within every being. Many things, both good and bad, happen in life. But the greatest tragedy is to die without realizing the Divine. So do not wait or hesitate. Move forward on the spiritual path. When that inner voice says, “You will lose your individual identity,” understand that it means your personal karma and sin will dissolve — and you will become one with the Cosmic Self. Coming together in satsang is a blessing. We receive the treasures of wisdom and pass them on to others — that is true joy. Receive with one hand, give with the other. This is the eternal flow of love. Love between a mother and child is beyond words. The child receives love from the mother, and the mother receives love from the child. The same happens between friends, partners, and all beings. As Yogananda said, “God is that love between two lovers.” Not the physical love, but the divine happiness that unites two souls as one. We should cultivate this love — with our brothers and sisters, parents, friends, animals, all living beings. When divine love awakens within you, you become the happiest person in the world. Awaken compassion in your heart. Awaken divine love. This love lies dormant, waiting to be unlocked. The petals of the heart unfold only in satsang, when you are open and receptive. If your heart is closed, you will miss the blessing. Sometimes people still carry duality in their consciousness — they see separation where there is none. For example, some may wonder why certain people sit on chairs while others sit on the floor, thinking it is unfair. But perhaps those sitting on chairs simply have knee problems! We must look beyond judgment and see with understanding. If you find yourself speaking negatively or judging others, it means some negative energy still remains within you. Pray to God to purify your heart: “Merciful Lord, I surrender to You — my body, mind, and soul. Let me be an instrument of Your love, So I may serve Your creation and enlighten hearts. Let me be a light in darkness. Bless me, guide me, protect me, and liberate me. I am Yours. Na’ham karta, Prabhu Deep karta, Mahaprabhudeep karta hi kaivalam.” Surrender, surrender, surrender. When you truly surrender, you will feel immense love and happiness. Material love is fleeting and often confusing, but the pure love between husband and wife, between parents and children, between true friends — that love, which endures through life, is divine and beyond description Vishwaguruji Paramhans Sri Swami Maheshwarananda, spiritual master and Yogi, author of Yoga and spiritual books, is the founder of the Yoga in Daily Life System and OM Ashram in Jadan, Rajasthan.
