Footage of police shooting a bull that escaped from an abattoir has led to calls for officers to be banned from dealing with livestock and wildlife. The appalling police operation in the Isle of Man saw an officer shoot the bull three times before he downed it, then one officer ran up to it, the animal stood and the firearms officer behind the running officer took another shot at it. Commentary from the crowd behind the camera reflect wider revulsion across social media after this film was released. Now shooters are to ask the Home Office to relieve the UK’s police forces of wildlife and livestock duties, and hand them to the hunting and shooting community.
