http://www.cheaphumidors.com/a/helixv... PLEASE visit my sponsor at http://www.cheaphumidors.com Hi I'm Nada with SmokingCigarGirl and today I'm going to be reviewing the Helix Maduro Robusto. This is a 5x50 cigar with a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro Wrapper and Honduras binder and filler. The cigar has a slightly rustic look, a little bit of tooth, and some mottling. The aroma of the cigar is very earthy and there's a slightly bitter dark chocolate flavor on the cold draw. Right from the start, there's a slightly sweet flavor on the front of the palate and the finish has a slightly bitter dark chocolate flavor and a little bit of earthiness as well. After the first few puffs, the flavors in the first third of the cigar are mostly earthy with some nuttiness on the front of the palate. The finish is also earthy with a little bit of woodiness and a slight bit of pepper. So far, the draw is a little tighter than what I normally like and the burn is mostly even. The ash has held on beautifully so far. The second third of the cigar has mostly lightly sweet cocoa on the front of the palate and the finish continues to be mostly earthy with a little bit of woodiness, but without the pepper that was on the first third. The cigar continues to burn very well. The draw is opening up a little bit more as I continue to smoke it and the ash continues to hold on steady. The final third of this Helix Maduro Robusto has some prominent dark fruit flavors on the front of the palate and the finish is mostly woodsy with a little bit of black pepper. The cigar overall has had a great steady ash the whole time as I just tapped it out after each third. The burn has been very even and consistent and I haven't had to relight the cigar at all. The cigar started off with a little bit of a tighter draw than I normally enjoy, but it's opened up to almost a perfect draw by the end of the cigar. The cigar overall is a medium to full bodied cigar and a medium strength cigar. I think it makes a great after dinner cigar with a glass of red wine, which would compliment some of those cocoa flavors as well as the fruit flavors in the final third.
