Weaver is a professor of surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, co-director of the USC Cardiovascular Thoracic Institute and chief of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy. His major research interest concerns the diagnosis and management of diseases that affect the aorta and its major branches, with an emphasis on aortic and renal artery disease. These research efforts are complemented by an active clinical practice at USC University Hospital, where he performs both endovascular and open reconstructive aortic procedures. He has been recognized as one of the "Best Doctors in America" since 2005. Dr. Weaver is certified by the American Board of Surgery in vascular surgery, general surgery and surgical critical care. He is director of the Max R. Gaspar Symposium, an annual meeting highlighting advances in the treatment of vascular disease. He is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery and the American Surgical Association, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and past president of the Western Vascular Society. He sits on the editorial boards of the "Journal of Vascular Surgery" and "Annals of Vascular Surgery" and is an associate editor of "Rutherford's Vascular Surgery." Fred A. Weaver, M.D., M.M.M.
