After finishing Big Bend--yes, hiking every mile of maintained trail in the park--we found ourselves with a few free days to enjoy being in the park while working remotely. We spent our free day parked at overlooks and doing two short hikes. The first short hike was just down a wash. We found a dirt river bed and followed it (at the advice of a campground neighbor). And the second hike was a tried true lovely trail toward the Mule Ears. We didn't have enough time to reach the Mule Ears before we needed to turn around to catch sunset but it was always about the journey not the destination. ***************************************************************************************************** We are Kelly & Michelle of Drive Hike Repeat. Back in 2019, we decided to try to hike every mile of every trail in every National Park. There are about 9300 miles of trail in the current 63 National Parks and we are over 46% done. Thanks for joining on our adventure of a lifetime. We're here to have fun so if you have something negative to say, please just move on. If you're interested in supporting our journey, the easiest (and free!) thing you can do is drop a like on this video and subscribe to our channel. The next easiest (and still free) things you can do is find us on other places like Instagram and Facebook. Or tell your friends about us. If you'd like to support us financially, you can peruse Kelly's prints for sale at https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/k... Our journey is financially self-supported with no sponsors so we appreciate anything you can do to be a part of our support network! And don't forget to check out our adventures on the web to plan for some of your own. We have loads of info about the National Parks up at our website: drivehikerepeat.com. You're always welcome to reach out there, here, or anywhere you can find us online with questions about how to take a National Parks adventure that's just right for you.
