A training video for volunteers serving as course marshals during Tour of the Gila, the five-day road bicycling stage race in Silver City, New Mexico. Volunteers play critical roles in the success of this bike race, which started in 1987. Some drive support vehicles, set up fencing, host pro teams, and provide medical assistance. Course marshals are the volunteers responsible for controlling traffic on the race course, keeping athletes safe and ensuring non-race vehicles stay out of the race caravan and off the course when riders come through.
